Workshop Outcomes
As a result of active participation in the workshop, participants will be able to:
• Describe blogs, wikis, RSS, social bookmarking, and personal portal tools.
• Set-up free, web-based blog, wiki, rss aggregator, social bookmarking, and personal portal accounts.
• Outline what blogs, wikis, RSS, social bookmarking, and personal portal tools can do based on hands-on experience with the various tools.
• Discuss reasons for using the various tools.
• Discuss how various course management systems, especially Blackboard and WebCT, are prepared to handle the incorporation of these various tools.
• Identify particular challenges common to incorporating new technologies into courses.
